A
Simpler Day
When the drugs
don’t get in the way
I can remember a simpler day
An easy walk down a country road way
When you would put a little song in every game we’d play
When the cold wasn’t so cold
And my appologies seemed new and true
And you loved me and I loved you
We didn’t have much money
But we just didn’t care
What ever we had was more then enough to share
But I just can’t
tell anymore
Was that really us or just some movie I saw
When the hero took his rightful place
When the story didn’t end with his last great fall from grace
And through my
dried out rose memory
I remember how you used to smiled with me
And how you’d take my hand and ask me why
The stars always seemed to be falling from the sky
When the cold wasn’t so cold
And my appologies seemed new and true
And you loved me and I loved you
We didn’t have much money
But we just didn’t care
What ever we had was more then enough to get us there
