Friends
Now I'm far away
Many miles have passed under me
I left before the sunrise
We all saw it coming
It came as no surprize
Now I'm in a
strange land
Where they speak a language I don't understand
Having a drink with my new found friends
Wondering if this is how my story's gonna end
And as I drink
I start to think
About all the laughs we had
And the times that weren't so bad
And I raise my glass and I call a cheers
Here's to the grace of God
And how we've survived through the years
Here's to my
old friends
And the times we stumbled home
Not knowing when the drinks should end
Here's to the way Flea thumped on that double bass
And the way Becky's fiddle could charge up any place
Here's to roll
your own
And to the pub that was feeling more like home
And to Beaver bringing over another round
Here's to all my friends in that five valley town
I know one day
I'll come back
And you'll tell me all the gossip
Yeah but minus the facts
And we'll head to the pub for a round or five
And we'll say man it's so good to see you still alive
