Lionel Lodge has formed a new group in Vienna with some of the city’s coolest, grooviest, young musical innovators. They started together just for fun, doing a series of live Sessions in a small 8th district bar, the G-Punkt. The Sessions were wild and loose and soon became too popular for the 80 capacity G-Punkt. Being forced to move to a larger venue only proved to be a temporary resolve as the weekly Session’s audience soon overwhelmed the 180 capacity, 7th district bar, the Kriterium.

Once the group line-up was established Rens Newland joined the group as a featured guitarist.

The Lionel Train plays songs from Lionel’s 7 solo CDs and the newly finished Lionel Train CD "It's Not My Fault" with a jazzy/bluesy/rocky/pop feel. Sometimes wild, sometimes tender, sometimes dangerous and smoking but always mesmerising and uplifting.

"Excellent songwriting, and a tight roots rock feel accompany the new CD from Lionel Train featuring Rens Newland. My favorite tunes are the rollicking "Day By Day", the soulful heartfelt "Our Paths Have Crossed", the light hearted "Bad Day", and the bluesy "Over Into Life". The Lionel Train is Lionel Lodge on vocals and acoustic guitar and features some excellent keyboard and organ work from Valentin Oman. `It's Not MY Faultī is a great collection of ballads, blues, and good time rock and roll. Buy it!"
